Unidentified individuals tried to hack journalist's e-mail at "Volyn24"

14.09.2017, 16:05
Unidentified individuals attempted to hack the e-mail of the journalist of online media outlet “Volyn24” Liudmyla Yavorska. Yavorska reported this to IMI representative in Volynska oblast. According to the journalist, on September 13 she received a letter from the Google security service about an attempts to enter her account using her password. The journalist suspects that it was a hack attempt related to her journalist activities. “If it was some other period of time, I would hardly even imagine something like this, but other cases of disruption of the work of journalists in Lutsk... there are too many "coincidences". I guess my account could be attacked not because of the mail itself, but because of the YouTube channel. Together with my colleague, Vasyl Bidun, we started a kind of mini-project about the work of the head of Volynska Oblast Council Ihor Palytsia, where, in particular, we show that the high official does not even come to his workplace”, she said. According to Liudmyla Yavorska, the latest material she was preparing was about financial reports of the charity foundation of Ihor Palytsia “Tilky Razom”. A month ago, on August 14, as IMI reported, Liudmyla Yavorska had her window broken in her home in Lutsk.
