Police stops guarding Medvedchuk's "palace" after UP's story
On the night of October 27, the security police left Viktor Medvedchuk's estate in Kyiv.

At midnight, the security police, which had set up a post near the residence of Putin's daughter's godfather in Pushcha-Vodytsia according to their contract, has stopped providing security services for the estate.
Currently, the UP is determining whether the property protection contract has been terminated.
On October 3, lawyers from the company owned by Medvedchuk's wife Oksana Marchenko came to return Viktor Medvedchuk's property in Pushcha-Vodytsia. The head of NGO "NPU Mezhyhirya" Denys Tarakhkotelyk said that Medvedchuk's estate and the surrounding land have been under the protection of NGO "NPU Mezhyhirya" since mid-March as part of the agreement with the Prosecutor General's office on the safeguarding of property during the investigation. Earlier, UP sources reported that security police, whose services are being paid for, are constantly on duty on the territory, and that patrol officers who had arrived at the place searched the UP filming crew.
As IMI reported, on September 21, Ukraine returned 215 Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity. 108 of them are soldiers of the Azov Regiment. They were exchanged for Viktor Medvedchuk.
Viktor Medvedchuk had been previously notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 111 (treason), Part 1 of Art. 258-3 (supporting a terrorist organization) and Part 1 of Art. 438 (looting of national assets) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
After the swap, acting head of SBU Vasyl Maliuk said that treason suspect Viktor Medvedchuk having been swapped does not prevent his case from being tried in court.
"Medvedchuk is not just the godfather of Putin's daughter, but a state traitor, which we have thoroughly documented. His guilt is fully recorded in the relevant material collected by the SBU. Moreover, while working on Medvedchuk's cases, we neutralized multiple agent networks, detained many state traitors and obtained a large amount of important information that we are now using in counterintelligence. And, thanks to the swap, we were able to release the heroes whose families are waiting for them at home from Russian captivity," Vasyl Maliuk said.
The head of the Chief Directorate of Intelligence at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that after Vladimir Putin's best man, People's Deputy from the now-banned "Opposition Platform – For Life" party, Viktor Medvedchuk, was swapped on September 21, he ended up in Moscow.
In early October, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv opened a case following the lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Justice to ban Viktor Medvedchuk's public organization "Ukrainian Choice – Right Of The People".
