Peremoha newspaper relocates from Krasnopillya, Sumy oblast
The staff of the newspaper Peremoha has evacuated from Krasnopillya (Sumy oblast) due to the worsening security situation, chief editor Oleksandr Motsnyi reported on Facebook on March 23.
“We are sad to announce that the Peremoha staff had to leave their home village of Krasnopillya as it is being ruthlessly destroyed by the Russian occupiers. 93 years of our history, archive material, office equipment — we tried to rescue all this by stuffing it into the team's car. Of course, could not take everything with us. They say that to come back somewhere you should forget something there. We believe that we will come back,” the editor wrote.

He added that Peremoha temporarily suspended operations once during World War II.
“We went out of print for two months after the start of this Russian aggression, but we resumed operations. We believe that we will be able to resume our work this time as well,” Motsnyi noted.
He added that the newspaper’s team are currently looking for housing, making arrangements for new office space and a supply of neccessities.
Oleksandr Motsnyi said in a comment to Suspilne Sumy that he and three other employees had evacuated from Krasnopillya. Before the shelling intensified, the newspaper’s weekly print run was 1,200 copies. The staff delivered the newspapers to readers on their own. Now the team is looking for a room to store the equipment they took with them and other items from their office.
“I am very grateful that, upon learning about our situation, Larysa Yakubenko, the Sumy oblast representative of National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting; IMI representative Alyona Yatsyna; and the Sumy Press Club chair Alla Fedorina offered help,” the chief editor said.
Earlier, the IMI wrote about how media outlets operate in the border areas of Sumy oblast in the third year of the full-scale invasion.
