The Russian troops deliberately targeted the house of the Vorskla editor, Oleksiy Pasiuha, with two Molniya-type drones on 12 March 2026. The strike occurred in Velyka Pysarivka village (Sumy oblast), which is located a few kilometers away from the border with Russia, Oleksiy Pasiuha reported in a comment to Olha Panfilova, the Institute of Mass Information representative in Sumy oblast.
Pasiuha said that the first drone had destroyed part of the building and the next one had flown inside it and burned it to the ground.
“The second Molniya burned down the house and everything inside it. We took almost nothing with us when we left. We all thought that we would come back soon. What matters is that we took the photo albums. Though my daughter did call us and scold us for not taking her prom dress,” says Oleksiy Pasiuha.

Pasiuha said it had been his father, also a journalist, who started the construction of the house. Together spent 20 years to build this family home.
“Many people are losing much more than their homes now. We are alive, healthy, and well,” says Oleksiy Pasiuha.
Vorskla is one of three print newspapers in Sumy oblast that had to relocate.
On 16 February 2024, a Russian shelling strike damaged the Vorskla office in Velyka Pysarivka (Sumy oblast). The team was unharmed. In March 2024, the office was damaged in a Russian air strike once again. The team relocated to Okhtyrka (Sumy oblast) in the same year and continued their work there.
