First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksander Kornienko denied rumors about the establishment of a new media holding based on state and private media to support President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said this on the sidelines of parliament, as Detector Media reported.

“How do you imagine one could legally establish in one single holding group the state TV channel, which is regulated by a separate law on foreign broadcasting, the Rada channel, which is regulated by the Verkhovna Rada regulations and various internal documents, a fully commercial Channel 24, another state enterprise “Holos Ukrainy” and "Uryadovy Kuryer"? We do not do science fiction here, "Kornienko said.

He added that all these media would continue to work according to their own rules.

Earlier, the media reported , citing sources , that the president's team was allegedly interested in creating a media holding company that would include the state-run TV channels Dom, Rada, and a private channel. The media holding group allegedly had to work in the interests of the president.

As IMI reported, on November 30, Oleh Dunda, a MP from the “Servant of the People” faction, announced the development of a bill to restore the institute of state television and radio broadcasting.
