Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has condemned Russia’s recent strikes on the offices of two Ukrainian media outlets, Vizyt TV in Kremenchuk and the Zakon i Biznes daily in Kyiv, describing them as war crimes in an X post.

“Russian strikes have caused extensive damage to two newsrooms. Today, the premises of Visit TV in Kremenchuk was hit. On Monday [19 October], it was the building of the Kyiv-based weekly Zakon i Biznes. RSF condemns these attacks, which constitute war crimes,” the organisation wrote.

OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Jan Braathu also responded to the strike on Vizyt TV, remarking that the Russian drone strike seriously damaged the outlet’s premises, causing the channel to suspend the production and broadcasting of news.

“The number of attacks inflicting damage on media outlets in Ukraine is increasing. It should be unnecessary to remind that media infrastructure are recognised as civilian objects under international humanitarian law and must not be targeted,” Jan Braathu wrote on X.

A Russian drone targeted the office of the private broadcaster Vizyt TV in Kremenchuk, Poltava oblast, overnight on 22 October. The strike caused significant damage to the building and started a fire. Because of the damage, the TV channel has temporarily stopped producing news.

A Russian strike on Kyiv overnight on 19 October inflicted significant damage on the office of the newspaper Zakon i Biznes. A Russian missile went off next to the building housing the outlet’s office. The shock wave blasted out all the windows, destroyed the interior walls, damaged the equipment and furniture in the office, and caused suspended ceilings to collapse.
