Case opened based on article 171 against the city council member who took recorder from journalist

On February 5, the prosecutor's office of Zaporizka oblast started criminal proceeding based on the fact of obstruction to journalist activities of the journalist from Zaporizhzhia city by the member of Zaporizhzhia city council, who during the plenary session took the journalist's recorder and deleted the audio record. This was reported at the website of the oblast prosecutor's office. Currently, the law enforcement officers conduct pre-trial investigation and clarify all the details of the event. As IMI reported before, on January 31 in Zaporizhzhia, during the session of local city council, the council member Oleksandr Nikolaenko without permission took the sound recorder of the editor of local portal “Aktsent”, Oleksandr Chubukin, by removing power elements from it.
