The adviser to the head of the President's Office made a disguised threat to his life, as the editor-in-chief of Censor.net Yuriy Butusov said. On November 29, Yuriy Butusov made such a comment on his Facebook page .

“Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to the head of President Yermak's office, published a long text filled with insults addressed to me, namely the public official claimed that some unknown persons were preparing make me “another Gongazde” and they were going to wipe me out within a week, supposedly aiming to cause protest rally . Arestovych pointed out that he had voiced a "probable scenario" and that he was going to provide me with state protection, but the insulting form of saying leaves no doubt: an official of the President's Office has expressed a disguised threat to my life, " as Yuriy Butusov said.

According to the journalist, the most threatening was to say that he had to be killed "like Gongadze."

"I knew Georgy Gongadze well enough while working as journalist and I remember very well that one month prior to his death, he appealed to Prosecutor General M. Potebenko, saying that he was being surveilled by law enforcement agencies and he exposed the SBU and the Ministry of the Interior surveillance. It seemed that such publicity would stop the authorities. But Gongadze was assassinated after President Kuchma told Interior Minister Kravchenko to "take him out and hand him over to the Chechens." It was the authorities who killed the journalist. Now President Zelensky's government is threatening to assassinate me. This is done deliberately loudly to scare all my relatives and friends, ”the journalist wrote.

Butusov considered Arestovych's saying to be "an extension of the campaign of pressure on me as a journalist, a direct intimidation."

"I demand the law enforcement to act immediately and to question officials of the President's Office, including Mr. Arestovych, regarding threats to my life. I consider as the main threat to my life the actions by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Chairman of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Intelligence Committee - First Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Ruslan Demchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office Oleg Tatarov, Chairman of SBU Ivan Bakanov, acting Chairman of SBI Oleksiy Sukhachev, ” as Yuriy Butusov wrote.

According to Butusov, the goal of Zelensky's entourage is to force him to stop investigating into the failures of a number of intelligence operations the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense made in July-December 2020 and exposure of the Russian agents inside the President's Office.

"I remember very well what the oligarchic TV channels did, after Georgy was killed:  how much dirt they threw, even the documentary films were aired on all the TV channels about how sinister character Gongadze was. And if the attempt is made on me, this will be done not to provoke protest rally against the government. And precisely in order to discredit any protest rally against the government and to conceal the Russian agents from the investigation. So I write about it right away to avoid any coincidences and misunderstandings in case. "Like Gongadze did," wrote Yuri Butusov.

As IMI reported, on November 29, Oleksiy Arestovych, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group and a supernumerary adviser to the head of the President's Office, believes that Censor.net editor-in-chief Yuriy Butusov could be killed, so he will ask for state protection for the journalist. According to Arestovych, Yuriy Butusov was "planned as another Gongadze." “... Butusov is being driven up as a sacred victim, he has already been planned as another Gongadze.(…) And this, according to the plan, will be a signal to start mass riots, amid a sincere indignation of citizens. And all this against the background of the build-up of Russian troops at the border. Is the scenario clear, isn’t ? The perfect ball game for Russia.”

Yuriy Butusov said he did not yet received proposals for state protection, but he won’t going to accept it, if proposed. Butusov claimed that he could not accept protection from government agencies, from those from whom the threat comes.

“The biggest threat to my life right now is the leaders of the State: President Zelensky, in particular the head of the President’s Office Yermak, head of the SBU Bakanov, the deputy head of the President's Office Tatarov, the head of the intelligence committee Demchenko and the acting head of the SBI Sukhachev. I believe that the threat to my life comes primarily from these officials who provoked the conflict and continue to try to discredit me and at any cost to silence or discredit my reports about the network of Russian traitors, Russian agents inside the President's Office, who blew the whole a number of special operations of the Directorate General of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense in 2020, ” as Butusov said.

As IMI reported, on November 28, State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has launched crimininal proceedings over the video shot by the  editor-in-chief of Censor.net Yuriy Butusov. Investigators consider a video posted on November 27 by Yuriy Butusov on his Facebook page, showing him firing a howitzer.

In the video, the journalist fires a 152-mm D-20 howitzer with the words: "Fire on the occupiers!" Yuriy Butusov later added that the video was shot a long time ago and during a training.

For his part, Yuri Butusov found that in this way, the President Volodymyr Zelensky took revenge on him "for his shameful press conference."

As IMI reported, on November 26, the President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the editor-in-chief of Censor.net of deaths in Donbas due to publication of a video of a Bayraktar drone. Yuriy Butusov replied to the head of state, saying he lied.

After the press marathon, Yuriy Butusov said he would sue the President Volodymyr Zelensky for slander.
