On February 16, the president Volodymyr Zelensky extended sanctions against blogger Anatoliy Shariy and editor-in-chief of Strana Igor Guzhva. Since now the sanctions are imposed on their other sites.

The relevant decree was published on February 16 on the website of the President's Office, as Suspilne (public broadcaster) reported.

By this decree, the head of state enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of December 30, 2021 "On Amendments to Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)".

Restrictions against Anatoliy Shariy now apply to the sites sharij.net, sharij.online, sharij.com.ua and other "web resources that provide access to the Shariy.net portal".

As for Strana edition, the sanctions cover the websites strana.ua, strana.news, strana.one, strana.digital, strana.today and other web resources that provide access to the portal "Strana.ua", as well as pages of the edition on Facebook, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki.

Anatoliy Shariy is on wanted list in Ukraine since February 2021 on suspicion of high treason. Ihor Guzhva had been wanted until the summer of 2019 under the article "extortion". He is currently in Austria.

As IMI reported, on August 21, 2021, Volodymyr Zelenskyi put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on the Shariys - Anatoly and Olga and the editor-in-chief of Strana.ua Igor Guzhva.

Bondarenko Alla Ivanivna, Solntseva Halyna Volodymyrivka and Lukashina Lyubov Yuriyivna were also included in the sanctions list. The last two are related to Igor Guzhva. Lasmak LLC , which owns Strana.ua, was registered to his wife Solntseva . This publication was banned.
