Volyn soldier, videographer Yuriy Siliuk killed in action
Yuriy Siliuk, a videographer from Lutsk who was fighting in Donetsk oblast, was killed in action, reports the IMI representative in Volyn oblast.
Yuriy Siliuk died on April 26 while performing a combat mission in Arkhangelske (Pokrovsk district, Donetsk oblast), Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk reported on Facebook.
According to the IMI representative, Yuriy Siliuk was a long-time employee of the Volyn Television and Hromadske.Volyn and worked with national TV channels.

In 2016, Yuriy Siliuk and his Hromadske.Volyn colleagues started working with the patrol police to film the popular program "Night Watch" to show people what happens in Lutsk at night. During one of such patrols in June 2016, Yuriy Siliuk was run over by a driver pursued by the police. The cameraman managed to jump aside in time.
Yuriy Siliuk would have turned 50 on June 1.
The soldier's funeral will take place on April 30 at 11:00 a.m. in Lutsk in the Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the burial will be held on the Alley of Glory in Garazdzha village.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, Yuriy Siliuk is the 79th media worker to die as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
