Victoria Roshchyna's body not returned by Russia on November 8
Russia did not give back the body of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchyna, who died in detention on Russian territory, as part of the November 8 repatriation effort, the Coordination Headquarters for POW Treatment reported to Suspilne.
The Headquarters has said that the bodies of 563 Ukrainian soldiers were given back today. The news did not mention civilians.
Namely, the bodies of 320 soldiers killed in action in the Donetsk segment and 89 soldiers fallen in the Bakhmut area were returned. 154 bodies from morgues inside Russia were also repatriated.
The death of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchyna in Russian detention was reported on October 10, 2024. According to the letter sent to her family by Russia's Ministry of Defense on October 10, Victoria died on September 19. Victoria Roshchyna's name was on the swap lists.
According to the Media Initiative for Human Rights, Victoria Roshchyna was detained in one of the most brutal prisons in Russia – the Taganrog PTDC No. 2. Her body was not given back to Ukraine as part of the October 18 swap.
