STB under extraordinary inspection

The National Council on Television and Radio appointed unscheduled inspection for STB channel in connection with the display of the "Bytva ekstrasensiv"(The Battle of extrasensory) Russian production. Regulator approved this decision on January 19, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

As IMI reported earlier, on Jan. 15, STB channel released of "Bytva ekstrasensiv"(The Battle of extrasensory) by TNT channel production of Russian TV. The participants of the show were Russian soldiers, including one soldier, who fought at Donbas.

Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk is an owner of STB channel.

Volodymyr Borodiansky, Chairman of the STB Board and the Head of Media Group StarLightMedia, apologized for showing Russian production of the "Bytva ekstrasensiv" with the participation of the Russian military. He informed about decision to stop running the program and to fire staff who allowed broadcasting of programs involving the Russian military.
