MasterChef music editor Anton Vovk killed in action

Anton Vovk, music editor for Starlight Media's MasterChef turned soldier, was killed in action while performing a combat mission on December 28, 2024, Starlight Media reported on Facebook on January 4.

The company said that Anton had worked with Starlight Media since 2011, initially on STB TV, then (starting 2020) as a senior music editor at Starlight Production.

“He was on the MasterChef team for 10 years, also supported projects such as Ukraine Got Talent, My Secret, Pekelni Boroshna, Formal Dinner, and many others. Talented and professional, positively minded and always ready to help,” the company writes.

They also reported that with the start of the full-scale war, Anton enlisted in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He served in the separate airborne assault brigade No. 95, was promoted to junior sergeant and received over ten awards and decorations, including a Golden Cross for courage and successful performance of combat missions.

Anton is survived by his wife and two daughters.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Anton Vovk is the 95th media worker to die as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression.
