Russia shells Kherson State University again
Russia shelled Kherson State University on January 5. The head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, showed the aftermath of the strike on Facebook.
“Walls are crumbling, classrooms are ruined, windows and doors are broken. This is what Kherson State University looks like after yesterday’s strike by Russia. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” Prokudin wrote.
As Ukrinform reports, this is not the first time that the Kherson State University building has been affected by Russian shelling. The building was damaged on October 12, 2023, and on March 28, 2024, when the Russian army targeted the main building of the university at around 4 a.m.
Kherson State University (KSU) has been temporarily relocated to the premises of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in April 2022.
The university operates at two sites: in the Ivano-Frankivsk office, where a suitable space for work and study has been set up, and in the fully equipped bomb shelter of the Kherson office.
