Serhiy Fisun, journalist and UAF Airborne Assault Forces officer, was killed in a Russian Lancet drone strike on 5 February, reports the V.N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv, which Fisun graduated. He was 47 years old.
Serhiy Fisun studied history the V.N. Karazin National University of Kharkiv and later devoted himself to journalism. He worked as a correspondent for Kharkiv-based news outlets such as Status Quo (as they reported) and was a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
Following the annexation of Crimea and the beginning of Russia’s aggression in the East of Ukraine, he volunteered to join the UAF Airborne Assault Forces training center No. 199. He was promoted to sergeant and later underwent officer training at the Ivan Kozhedub National Air Force University of Kharkiv. He then served in the Air Forces as a junior lieutenant and was later promoted to captain.

He received multiple awards by the command an trophy weapon for his battlefield achievements, the University reported.
According to the Institute of Mass Informaion, Serhiy Fisun was the 125th media professional to die in the course of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
