Oleksandr Klymenko, a serviceman, videographer, and director from Poltava, was killed action, his colleague, Suspilne Poltava editor Oleksandr Usachov reported in a Facebook post and to the Institute of Mass Information’s regional representative Nadia Kucher.

Oleksandr Klymenko worked as a video editor with the Poltava-based TV channels Misto and Tsentralnyi (before 2020).

He enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces in October 2023 and went missing in action in mid-2024.

His death was confirmed on 30 April 2026 by the DNA examination of the soldiers’ bodies released by Russia.

In his comment to IMI, Usachov said that Oleksandr Klymenko had last been in contact in Novohrodivka, (Pokrovsk district, Donetsk oblast). He was declared missing in early July 2024.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Oleksandr Klymenko is the 131st media professional deceased in the course of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
