Russians block Ukrainian broadcasting, substitute it with Russian TV – DIU
The Russian occupiers in the occupied part of the Kherson oblast are mass-connecting subscribers to the Russian satellite television "Russkiy Mir", reports the Defense Intelligence.
So far, the Russians have installed over 18,000 pieces of equipment for this purpose.
According to the DIU, the Russians in the temporarily occupied communities of Donetsk oblast are switching the occupation administrations to their own software and communication services: namely, the "Civil Servant's Automated Cabinet" and the federal platform "Gosweb".
In the meantime, the occupiers are expanding the coverage network of the Russian mobile operators: in 2023–2024, over 700 base stations were installed in the Donetsk oblast and over 200 in the Kherson oblast, which is more than 85% of all mobile coverage in the occupied region.
Mobile connection in the occupied territories
As reported by IMI, the Russians are blocking Google services in the occupied territories. According to the National Resistance Center, people in some cities and villages in the south have no access to YouTube, Google Search, Gmail and other Alphabet services.
Due to the mobile connection shutdown in the occupied Rubizhne (Luhansk oblast), people are unable to call an ambulance. The Russians are jamming the mobile connection in the territories they occupied in 2022 so that the locals can not report the location of their equipment and personnel to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The territories occupied by Russia in 2014 have mobile connection, but it works poorly.
