Russia plans to import 165 thousand copies of their propaganda to the TOT – NRC
Russia plans to import over 165,000 copies of propaganda literature to the libraries of the temporarily occupied territories by the end of this year, reports the National Resistance Center.
According to the Center, Putin's "United Russia" party is currently arranging the supply of such editions. Predominantly these are pseudo-historical literature or books about the World War II. Russians are using them to replace Ukrainian books, which are being removed from libraries.
"Let us note that, as always, this is being framed as 'the will of the people': they claim that the books are being swapped at the request of locals and that they are being collected and handed over by ordinary Russians. In reality, however, most of the books are newly printed, and this is the enemy's deliberate policy intended to Russify the region," remarks the National Resistance Center.
As reported by IMI, in early July 2023, Russian FSB officers seized over 1.5 thousand copies of Ukrainian books in Mariupol. In March 2023, the Center of National Resistance reported that the Russian Federation was allocating 360 million rublse for the liquidation of Ukrainian libraries in the occupied territories.
Russians continue to import their propaganda to the libraries in the temporarily occupied territories, namely to the libraries in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast.
