Russian forces have destroyed the warehouse storing property of the news outlet Babel and equipment the team had intended to donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, chief editor Kateryna Kobernyk reported in a Facebook post.

Kobernyk said that the warehouse had burned down completely after a strike the previous evening. Power banks, power stations, several computers, a generator, other equipment, and furniture were destroyed, as was part of the strategic firewood stockpile that the team had prepared for the staff in case of emergency power outages.

“What pains me most personally is that there was a good new MacBook in there that we were supposed to hand over to the Dovbush Hornets. We’re fundraising for 10 laptops for drone operators. We didn’t send it to them earlier because we were waiting for one more laptop — we wanted to send two at once. We’d already promised them. We won’t be able to buy a new one now,” Kobernyk wrote.
She added that the strike felt as if “their entire past was burned down” by the occupiers.
“We always complained that we were tired of moving all our stuff from office to office. Now there’s nothing left,” Kateryna Kobernyk said.
Russian troops targeted the office of the TV channels We Ukraine and We Ukraine+ in an air strike on 8 September 2026. The newsroom and staff offices suffered the most damage, and six team members were injured.
