Previously assigned missing Mariupol cameraman Oleksiy Andreyev killed in action
Oleksiy Andreyev, an army serviceman and TV cameraman from Mariupol, was killed in action and buried on November 2, 2024 in Chernivtsi. He was previously assigned missing in Donetsk oblast on November 29, 2023, reports the Mariupol city website 0629 and his wife Natalya Ikim.
According to his wife, Oleksiy was assumed to have gone missing in Bohdanivka village, Bakhmut district. There was a battle and he was in the vanguard.
His body was recently retrieved in a swap. A DNA analysis confirmed his identity.

Oleksiy Andreyev worked as a cameraman at the Mariupol TV channels "TB7" and "Sigma" and the Azovstal plant press office since the 2000s. In 2017, he moved to Chernivtsi, where he lived and worked. On February 25, 2022, he enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Oleksiy was 50.
"The only home he has left is Chernivtsi. But he really missed Mariupol, the city that was always in his heart. I know that despite everything, he would like to see it under the Ukrainian flag again..." wrote his wife's sister Natalya in memory of Oleksiy Andreyev.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, Oleksiy Andreyev is the 92nd media professional who died as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression.
