Over 20 media deleted an unverified information about supply of gas by “Ukrposhta”

05.09.2017, 15:49
Over 20 Ukrainian online media outlets published the news that “Ukrposhta” plans to supply gas to the territory of Ukraine and already sent to National Commission for state regulation of energy sphere and utilities a request to obtain a license. In reality, the company purchased some gas for its own needs, “Detector media” reports. The news about Ukrainian State Postal Service "Ukrposhta" starting natural gas trade was published by Strana.ua, TSN, LIGA.Novosti, UNIAN, Hromadske Radio, Espreso, and others. Mykhailo Vasylenko, director of "Ukrposhta" for communications and interactions with governmental agencies, informed that the information that Ukrposhta will be a gas trader is not true. He wrote that with over 20 publications of this information, only one journalist decided to verify the information and contacted the company. The natural gas  in question (3.5 million tons in total) will be purchased for heating of the company's offices and logistical centers. It will be stored in the facilities of gas transportation company, Ukrtransgaz, yet according to the law, it had to obtain the relevant license for storage, which produced the speculations, Vasylenko explained in his Facebook entry.
