Chubarov: Editor of Crimean children's magazine Armançıq may have been kidnapped by Russian special services
Ediye Muslimova, founder and editor of the children's magazine Armançıq who has been missing since yesterday, could have been abducted by Russian special services. There is a chance that she is detained in the Russian FSB headquarters in occupied Crimea, says Refat Chubarov, the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
"We are not considering other theories of Ediye Muslimova's disappearance, since we know with how much care she treats her 91-year-old mother, whom Ediye was supposed to visit yesterday. The disappearance of Ediye Muslimova could signal the start of a crackdown by Russian occupiers on every Crimean Tatar man or woman who devotes their strength, time, and knowledge to educating their people," stressed Refat Chubarov.

He says that the only way to quickly find out what happened to Ediye Muslimova and her current whereabouts is to share the news of her disappearance both in Crimea, in mainland Ukraine, and in other countries.
“A special request to all Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian organizations around the world: please spread awareness of Ediye Muslimova's disapperance (probably abduction by Russian special services) in the languages you know, in the countries where you live,” Refat Chubarov wrote.
He called on those living in occupied Crimea to promptly report information related to Ediye Muslimova’s disappearance.
On November 21, Ediye Muslimova, aged 61, editor-in-chief of the Crimean Tatar children's magazine Armançıq, went missing in Crimea. Her niece Elzara Muslimova has already filed a statement with the police and is preparing complaints to the Crimea Prosecutor’s Office and the FSB.
Ediye Muslimova has been publishing the children's magazine Armançıq in Crimean Tatar language since 2011. She is the daughter of Crimean Tatar activist Refat Muslimov, who came back to Crimea with his family in 1968 despite the hardship.
