NRC: Occupiers threaten to confiscate "unlicensed" TV equipment to step up propaganda
The Russians are threatening to seize "unlicensed television equipment" from the residents of occupied territories who refuse to install Russian equipment, reports the National Resistance Center.
The Ukrainian underground resistance says that in this way the occupiers are trying to enhance the information isolation of thost living under occupation and to step up the propaganda through their own broadcasting.
"The Kremlin's machine of lies works due to information isolation, when no alternative to the distorted reality proposed by Russia is available. So the occupiers are actively distributing television equipment for the satellite television 'Russian Year', which includes about 20 Kremlin channels," the NRC notes.
They add that people are in no hurry to take such "gifts" from Russians home. The National Resistance Center also urged people to report those who help spread the "Russian world" here.
Earlier, the Russian State Duma passed law amendments mandating that owners of messenger channels with over 10,000 subscribers register with Roskomnadzor.
