New acting Chairman of PJS NPTRCU Board

Deputy CEO of the National Television Company, Hanne Bychok appointed acting Chairman of Board of Public Joined-Stock National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (PJS NPTRCU). The corresponding order January 18 signed by the chairman of the State Committee, chairman of the National Television Company PJSC conversion NSTU Oleg Nalivaiko, said, "Public Broadcasting".

According to Nalyvaiko, Hanna Bychok will act as a chairman since the moment of PJS NPTRCU registration till the time when members of the Supervisory Board of PJS NPTRCU will elect the new chairman of public television and radio.

Hanna Bychok is Deputy of Chairman of the Commission on the transformation of the National Television Company to PJS NPTRCU. She started to work in the NTC since the beginning of 2006. Hanna Bychok was workibg as a Head of Planning and Economic Department, Head of public contracts and analysis of broadcasting, Chief of financial and economic department, then she became a Deputy Director General of financial and economic policies, government procurement and logistics.

We remind that registration of PJS NPTRCU is planning to hold in the second fortnight of January.
On Nov.26, 2016 Oleh Nalyvaiko became the head of the Commission on transform the National Television Company of Ukraine to National Public Television and Radio Company (NPTRC) instead of Zurab Alasania.

On Nov.1, National Television Company CEO Zurab Alasania stated that he is resigned voluntarily. He did not agree that public broadcasting, which should appear next year, will be under-funded to a considerable amount. At the same day, journalists, media experts and MPs appealed to the President of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada with a demand not to disrupt the reform of public broadcasting. They joined the coalition "For public broadcasting" and published their demands.

On Nov.2 Cabinet approved Zurab Alasania dismissal as the chairman of the National Television. Three deputies of Alasania followed him and resigned: Mykhailo Shmatov, Dariya Yurovsky and ViKtoria Romanova.

On Nov.7 Oleh Nalyvaiko signed a decree on dismissal Zurab Alasania as Director General of the NTU by agreement.
Zurab Alasania remained as the Chairman of the commission to transform the National Television Company to PJS NPTRCU till now.

Hanna Bychok estimated that limit expenditures on public television in 2017 will not allow to update equipment or significantly increase wages. All the funds in amount of 200 million hryvnia, that the Ministry of Finance will provide to PJS NPTRCU, will be spend on tax payments. "There is no money for technical upgrading," - Hanna Bychok said.

Chairman of the State Committee on Radio and Television Oleh Nalyvayko appealed to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman requesting to agree the draft of Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine" concerning temporary exemptions for PJS "National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine."
