The chair of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, Olha Herasymyuk, has suggested that the Telegram channel "Trukha" register as an online media outlet, but the channel has not yet submitted an application.

Olha Herasymyuk mentioned this in her interview with "Women in Media".

"I talked to them once. When last summer (2023. – Ed.) I first said that Telegram was problematic due to the spread of discriminatory posts, there was an outcry there [on Telegram]. They started insulting me, as one does in black PR. Then 'Trukha' contacted me for a comment and promised not to twist my words. I casually asked them: 'Why don't you register?' The reporter promised that he would talk to his employer. But so far we have not received any applications. Maybe they will apply [to register] in the future," said the NCTRB chair.

In the year since the Law "On Media" came into effect, the NCTRB has registered 12 Ukrainian Telegram channels as online media outlets.

Maksym Lavrynenko, who has repeatedly claimed to be the owner of the "Trukha" network, was accredited to attend the press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 19, 2023.

On October 16, 2023, the President's Office organized a closed meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and the editors of multiple Ukrainian media outlets, inviting Trukha. Representatives of the anonymous Telegram channel being invited to the meeting caused outrage in parts of the media community.
