Motorsports commentator Vyacheslav Kobrzhytskyi killed in combat
Vyacheslav Kobrzhytskyi, service member and motorsports commentator with Setanta, has been killed in action, as announced by his colleague Vitaliy Volochay on Telegram on May 1.
Volochay says that, Vyacheslav “gave his life defending Ukraine in Donetsk oblast.”
“Slava enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces some time ago, asking one thing of us in the Setanta commentators’ chat: 'Don’t be sad without me.' Heroes never die”, Volochay wrote.
Kobrzhytskyi joined Setanta Sports in 2020, where he was a motor racing commentator. Before that, he was a Formula 1 commentator, reports Champion.
According to the Institute of Mass Information, Vyacheslav Kobrzhytskyi is the 104th media professional to die as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression.
It was reported on April 29, 2025, that Volodymyr Kotsur, sports journalist turned soldier, had been killed in action.
