Klychko won suit against “1+1” broadcaster
The Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko claimed to have won a lawsuit against “1 + 1” Studio “TV and Radio Company in Podilsky district court in Kyiv, as Ukrinform reported.
The libel lawsuit of the mayor of Kyiv and co-plaintiff Dmytro Bilotserkovets was filed in August 2019, after the broadcast of" Studio 1 + 1 "program" Money "by Alexander Dubinsky, as to the report.
Klichko recalled that a large-scale discredit campaign was launched against him at the time.
"And I said that I would defend my honor and dignity in court. That's why I filed a lawsuit against the 1 + 1 TV channel, which drugged my name through the mud. There is no question of an crackdown on freedom of speech," as Klichko said.
Having considered the lawsuit, the judges decided to rule for, obliging the TV company "1 + 1" Studio” to refute the untruthful information on the air of the program "Hroshi". The court also ordered to take down the concerned program from all information resources of the TV company and social networks linked to it.
As reported, in 2019, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and his brother Volodymyr Klychko filed a lawsuit against the 1 + 1 TV channel.
