Kam'yansk: unknown burnt car of chief editor of local publications

13.02.2017, 14:25

Kam'yansk (former Dniprodzerzhynsk) Dnipropetrovsk region, on the night of February 12, unknown set in fire a car. The car belongs to Serhiy Guz, the editor of the "5692" local website and newspaper "Misto 5692". The editor reports about threats. "5692" website reports.

Car was set in fire at the yard, around 4 am. Neighbors noticed the fire.
"I have no doubts that the car was burned because of our fair and professional work. Some people who have influance in the city don't like the way we highlight events in Kam'yansk. In last weeks, there was a pressure on the editorail office to prevent the release of a new newspaper "Misto 5692" and to stop investigations conducted by the editors. A few days ago some people asked me about my car. I think that some people didn't like our recent posts about manipulative moves towards some deputies in order to withdraw them from the city council. I will tell the names of those whom I suspect later. Lett investigators do their job," - Serhiy Guz said.

Investigative team, which arrived on the scene, found traces of arson attack. The car burst into flames in several places. Judging by the traces on the trunk, it was a Molotov cocktail.

Investigation started upon the fact of the arson attack, the publication said.
