Journalist from Mykolaiv noticed his gmail account being hacked

Journalist Andriy Lokhmatov from Mykolaiv reports his e-mail box at gmail was hacked by unidentified individuals on February 11. He reported IMI about this. As Andriy said, twice in the span of one hour - betwen 21.00 and 22.00 - he received notification of Gmail about log-in to his account from a new device - from Mykolaiv and from Kyiv. The journalist changed his password, and the system reported one more attempt to hack his account. Lately, Andriy Lokhmatov was working on topics related to activities of the administration of Mykolaivska Oblast State Administration. There is no evidence that the hack attempts were related to these topics, yet this is a likely possibility.   As IMI reported before, in January of 2018, journalists from Mykolaiv Tetiana Lokatska and Andriy Lokhmatov stated that they are pressured by the head of Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration, Oleksiy Savchenko, who pressures local mass media and journalists who create critical materials about him.
