Journalist from Lubny claims he received threats of physical violence

In Lubny, Poltavska oblast, journalist of local TV company filed to police an official complaint about threats by the driver who violated traffic regulations. This was reported on the web-site of the Chief Administration of National Police in Poltavska oblast in Facebook. The journalist filed the complaint to the local police station on September 4, about 9 p.m. As it turned out, on September 1 about 11 p.m., patrol police of Lubny city stopped a Seat with an apparently drunk driver, 31-year-old local man. The driver refused to take any tests or medical examinations for identifying alcohol intoxication. The journalist was taking footage with his video camera nearby, and witnessed this. The driver, seeing the camera that was recording him, started to threaten and to swear. The police officers drew up a protocol on administrative offense (drunk driving). The journalist who was recording the video footage wants the driver brought to criminal responsibility for threats against him. Pre-trial investigation is pending.
