Janitor in Kherson appointed "administrator" of propagandist channel "Tavria"

27.06.2022, 15:58

In Kherson, the russian occupiers appointed former janitor Lilia Makarova "administrator" of their TV channel "Tavria," which was created on the basis of Suspilne.Kherson.

This was reported by head of Suspilne.Kherson branch Mykhailo Svarychevskyy.

"Almost 4 months of occupation of Suspilne.Kherson's buildings, and here we go, the first displays of trc "tavriya." … The administrator of trc "tavriya" is now lilia makarova. She has nothing to do with the branch's team. lilia worked for us as a janitor under a service contract," he wrote.

Svarichevskyy published a video about the propaganda channel's work and suggested that its technical staff was most likely from the Crimea.

"The russkie's 'specialized experts' are so specialized that during the first week and a half of the occupation, they did not have enough brain to turn off our channel, which broadcasts the national telethon. All this indicates that the orcs have no idea of the further developments, they do not know what to do with Kherson, do not know how to restrain the people's resistance, but they realize that they have no future. Empty words, propaganda and failures are everywhere: the channel's creation, the kherson people's republic, the referendums, the local government," he wrote.

As IMI reported, Kherson and part of the region are currently under russian occupation. Persecutions and crimes began almost from the first day of the occupation. On March 2, five armed russian occupiers seized the Suspilne.Kherson building. The occupiers shut down the broadcast of Ukrainian TV channels and launched russian channels on T2.

In addition, multiple media outlets in the region have ceased their work. Namely, in Henichesk, two publications closed down due to the occupation – "Novy Vizyt" and "Pryazovska Pravda."

The occupiers have also abducted journalists: journalist Oleh Baturyn in Kakhovka and journalist Oleksandr Hunko in Nova Kakhovka.
