In Kropyvnytskyi, unidentified man demanded journalist to delete her recorded footage

21.02.2018, 19:16
On February 21 in Kropyvnytskyi, coordinator of “Reforms press club” and co-editor of website “Tusovka” Viktoria Talashkevych was approached by a man who demanded to delete footage she recorded because he was on that footage. This was reported by IMI representative in Kirovohradska oblast. Journalist saw several cars being parked on the sidewalk and recorded this using her cell phone camera and went to her car that was parked around the corner. Yet one of the men who parked his car on the sidewalk, noticed her and blocked her car with his own. He stepped out, approached the journalist and demanded to delete the video he took. The journalist had to call the police. The police officers said that, although journalist has a full right to take footage in public places, parking a car on the sidewalk does not constitute an offence, and this persuaded the man to leave.
