In Cherkasy, unidentified men, one of whom said he was police, assaulted journalist of TV channel “Antena”

15.12.2014, 21:25

On the eve of December 13 in Cherkasy, an unidentified drunk man hit the journalist of the TV channel “Antena” Roman Shovenko, who was recording with his camera actions of a group of drunk individuals.
According to the journalist, he saw a clash between the guards of one of the restaurants, and started to record it. After this, the hooligans started to threaten the journalist and to attack him. One of the attackers obstructed the recording. When police came, he punched journalist’s head and body several times and tried to snatch the camera out of his hands and to damage it.  He called police and said that he is a police officer, and he is being assaulted. The hooligan was detained by the police, and the criminal case on hooliganism was opened. Gravity of journalist’s injuries is being identified. As the verification showed, the individual who said he was a cop from Cherkasy does not actually work in local police bodies.
