The editor of online media outlet “Volyn24” Yuriy Rychuk received in the messanger Telegram suspicious messages from an unidentified person. The user of an unknown account asked the editor about his health and about his child visiting school. Rychuk reported this to IMI representative in Volynska oblast.
The editor asked who was the sender of the messages, but this person did not introduce. The message was received on September 1.
Media lawyer of IMI Maksym Ratushnyi pointed out that it is highly likely that such messages are continuation of the story with the threats the journalist had received before.
“Although in this case, there were no direct threats, it will not hurt to report this case to the police as a part of the investigation they are already conducting in relation to the previous phone calls. It looks like a psychological pressure”, the lawyer commented.
