Case of photographer Yevhen Nikiforov reclassified and brought to court
The indictment in the case of Kyiv photographer Yevhen Nikiforov, who is accused of committing a fatal road accident in the village of Vasylivka in the Odesa region, was reclassified and transferred to the Bilyaiv District Court of the Odesa Region, as Suspilne reported.
Nikiforov's case was reclassified from Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Violation of rules of traffic safety or operation of transport by the persons driving vehicles") on h. 1 Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Reckless homicide").
The case will be considered in the Bilyaivsky district court.
As IMI reported, in early September 2021, the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office completed a pre-trial investigation into the case of Yevhen Nikiforov.
On September 6, photographer Yevhen Nikiforov announced the end of his 24-hour house arrest.
On April 5, the Odessa Court of Appeal changed Nikiforov's pre-trial detention from a night house arrest to a 24-hour one.
On March 17, the Kyiv District Court of Odessa chose a measure of restraint in the form of a night house arrest of Nikiforov.
On March 14, photographer Yevhen Nikiforov, who works with “Zaborona”, was threatened, he was suffered an attempt of robbery and beating in the village of Vasylivka, in Odessa region.
