At least 22 Ukrainian online media outlets blocked in Crimea – Advocacy Group

03.08.2017, 23:53
At least 22 Ukrainian media outlets are fully or partly inaccessible in the occupied Crimea. These are the results of the monitoring, conducted by the Crimean Advocacy Group in July of 2017 for five Crimean cities, Krym.Realii report. In total, CAG monitored 27 websites. Their full list is provided here. The monitoring showed that 11 websites from this list are completely blocked by five providers – BelNet (Bilohirsk), Sevstar (Sevastopol), Triolan (Simferopol), Bospor(Kerch), Yaltanet (Yalta). These websites are: “Censor.net”, “15 khvylyn”, “Europeyska pravda”, “Krym SOS”, “Hromadske radio”, “Ukrinform”, “Channel 5”, “Focus”, “Informatsiynyi opir”, “Sled.net”, LinkedIn, RBK. A noteworthy fact is that the website of Roskomnadzor has information only about five websites from the CAG monitoring list, which are blocked on the territory of Russia based on the court resolutions, the advocates report. According to the data of the monitoring, the website “Krym.Realii” is partly blocked in Yalta (some of materials cannot be accessed). Head of the Crimean Advocacy Group Olha Skrypnyk said that the monitoring exposed violations of freedom of speech and expression that are described in all guiding documents in the sphere of human rights.
