Anastasia Volkova's death: Witnesses say journalist died in the ambulance vehicle
Witnesses of the traffic accident that resulted in the death of Dim war reporter Anastasia Volkova assure that the journalist died in the ambulance carriage and not on the spot (as was reported following her death – Ed.), reports Realna Hazeta, citing Anastasia Volkova's friend Maryna Tereshchenko.
According to Maryna, several witnesses, both anonymous and not, responded to social media and mass media calls. Before the ambulance arrived, the reporter was given first aid by the soldiers who were in the cafe nearby, and later by the police.
One of them said that Anastasia did not die immediately.
"At first glance, she had multiple rib and pelvis fractures, a punctured head. I am glad that there were people near her who held her hand in her last moments. According to the witnesses, Nastya died on a stretcher in the ambulance. They also note that the doctors were in no hurry to provide aid, and the soldiers who were there insisted on immediate hospitalization," says Maryna Tereshchenko.
She noted that the soldiers helped to fix her on the stretcher. One witness called the Ministry of Health hotline with a complaint about the doctors' inaction, but has not received a reply so far.
Currently, the necessary investigative and procedural actions have been taken in the traffic accident case. The police is preparing a suspicion notice to the culprit, according to a reply provided to Olena Nizhelska, director of the NGO Siverskyi Donets Crisis Media Center.
The driver of the VAZ car was also killed in the accident. The man was aged 57 and his relatives are also fighting for justice.
