Activists picketed Interior Ministry on 5th anniversary of Sheremet's death
On July 20, about a hundred activists came to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv, on the fifth anniversary of the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, demanding to find real killers of Pavel Sheremet, as Ukrinform reported.
Protesters called to probe thoroughly and to identify those responsible for Sheremet's murder. In particular, to conduct an internal investigation in the National Police and transfer the case to other pre-trial investigation bodies.
The protesters demanded to stop persecuting the accused in the case of the murder of journalist: ATO veteran and musician Andriy Antonenko, pediatric cardiac surgeon Yulia Kuzmenko and military nurse Yana Duhar.
At the end of the action, activists lit fireworks and colored smoke candles outside the Ministry of Internal Affairs building.
As reported by IMI, on July 20, 2021 in the center of Kiev honored the memory of journalist Pavel Sheremet, who died on July 20, 2016 from an explosive planted under his car.
On July 16, Interior Minister Denis Monastyrskyi promised to draw conclusions about the quality of law enforcement in the case of Pavel Sheremet following a court ruling.
“In high-profile proceedings, in particular in the Sheremet case, the case is currently in court. Let's wait for these results, and after that conclusions will be made about the work and quality of the law enforcement system, "he said.

“We welcome the fact that the investigation is underway and the case has not been forgotten. We have to say it frankly, the lead of investigation stupefied us. Actually, we took the information they set out with reserve, ” the UP’s message reads.

But, their involvement in the murder of the journalist was to be verified, the same as involvement of other persons.
On April 30, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv changed the measure of restraint for the accused Andriy Antonenko, from custody to 24-hour house arrest.
