$ 50,000 had been offered to Bihus with proposition not to air story
Denis Bihus, head of the Bihus.info project, was offered $ 50,000 for not airing the story. The incident dates back to 2014, and the amount was 600 thousand hryvnias (at that rate 50 thousand dollars). Bigus revealed it interviewed by Censor.net.
He also said that actually 10 lawsuits filed against Bihus.info are pending before court. In particular, because of his project’s investigation into the illegal assets of the superiors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, some journalists are being brought to the proceeings in the case of the Main Investigation Department of the Police. “For now, we are brought as witnesses, but actually this is very easy to requalify everything. If truth be told, I had to say, that there was no such things under Poroshenko, under Zelensky it really got worse in many things, because Avakov got in power, ” Denis Bihus says.
He added that as for now, the Bihus.info project has not lost any single lawsuit. “And I realise that this won’t last forever. That is, if you work in our genre, soon or later there will come a time when blunder occurs. Well, if it's some small mistake, it's really easier to admit it right away, sorry, here we were wrong. We are used to do like this, actually. Well, I can remember literally a couple of cases when we made really some mistake, ” Bigus added.
On January 14, 2020, Bihus.info Project Manager Denys Bihus said the program “Geometry L” involving opponents to vaccination was the first video that the editorial board has ever removed from its YouTube channel. He said it in a video message, which he posted on Facebook on January 15, according to MediaSapiens.
In the video, he explained why on January 14, the program "Geometry L" disappeared from Bihus.info YouTube channel.
“Viewing response, this program came straight into a social trauma that I never knew it existed. This can explain, but does not excuse me as an editor and project manager whose image faced some damage. Since I am not a specialist in this type of trauma, I do not want to "dig in" anymore. The program hjas been removed from the channel. This is the first video we have ever deleted, Bigus said in the video.
He assured that the program was not to promote the idea of anti-vaccination or presenting a "different opinion". Denys Bihus said he had been vaccinated and "was not a supporter of an opposite view."
