Jeansa in online editions. Monitoring report for February 11-17th, 2019

(Photo credit: euromaidanpress.com) The top position in the list of the online editions that publish the stories with features that suggest they are commissioned are “Obozrevatel” (70 would-be commissioned stories identified in the monitoring period of February 11 -17th), RBK Ukraina 958 of such stories) and Gordon (40 stories of the kind). These are the results of the IMI survey held in February 2019*. No commissioned stories have been revealed in the Ukrayinska Pravda and Liga. The web-sites of Novoe Vremya and TSN had only improperly marked stories, covering mostly commercial topics. In total, only 12% of stories with features suggesting they are commissioned were conventionally marked as advertisement. But this marks arer not corresponding to the legislation, so they are improperly marked ones. A quarter of stories (24% ) with features of commissioned stories in online editions covered the activity of Yulia Tymoshenko. In total, during one week of monitoring in 11 popular online editions our experts identified 295 stories with features of commissioned ones. Among them 12% were marked as advertisement, but this marking does not correspond to the law “On Advertisement”. On the eve of election, the number of political commissioned stories are exceeding the economic commissioned stories: only 17% of stories with jeansa features covered economic issues, and respectively 83% of stories covered political issues. An uncontestable leader as to jeansa became Yulia Tymoshenko. The most of stories on her favor were published in Obozrevatel (obozrevatel.com) and RBK Ukraina (rbc.ua). 8% of politica jeansa concerned actual mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy. Mostly the 24th channel published such stories on its web-site 924tv.ua). 6,5% of would-be commissioned stories in favor of Anatoliy Grytsenko among the total number of commissioned stories of political nature, mostly in obozrevatel.com. The same percent waere the would-be commissioned stories to the benefit of Opposition platform-For life and the candidate for the presidency Oleksander Vilkul. The most of stories of the kind were published in Segodnya daily web-site (segodnya.ua). 5% of jeansa stories concerned the “Oposition plateform with main figure in it Vadym Rabyniovych. IMI expert identified the most of such stories at rbc.ua web-site (RBK Ukraina). 5% of jeansa stories concerned Volodymyr Zelensky and Vitaliy Klychko. Around 3% of storires with features of black PR concerned the activity of the actual president Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko. *The survey was held in 11 popular national online editions: obozrevatel.com, segodnya.ua, 24tv.ua, tsn.ua, strana.ua, pravda.com.ua, rbc.ua, unian.com, Gordon.ua, nv.ua, Liga.net. The monitoring period was between February 11th and 17th 2019. The total selection of analyzed stories was 20 000.
