Akhmetov's business companies and interests at the top of jeansa ranking in online media - IMI monitoring

The top position among customers of jeansa in online media was taken by business companies, which accounted for almost a third of all news items with the attributes of having been ordered (27.5%). The second place was up to the news items with signs of ordering in favor of the business companies, interests and image of one of the richest and most influential oligarchs of Ukraine Rinat Akhmetov. The amount of materials in favor of Akhmetov has almost doubled (from 8% of the total number of jeansa in the first quarter of 2021 to 16.3% in the second). 

These are the results of a study by the NGO "Institute of Mass Information", which was conducted in 18 online media, the full sample was more than 20 thousand news items*.

Most of the political jeansa were about increasing of the significance of President Zelensky's program "Big Construction". 

Overall, the level of jeansa in online media increased by more than a third (by 39%) in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of 2021. 

"Obozrevatel" (124 news items with order signs), "Politeka" (61 news items) became anti-leader websites for placing materials with signs of the order. Materials with signs of the order were also found on the sites "RBC-Ukraine" (25), "Channel 24" (22), "Interfax-Ukraine" (21), UNIAN (20), "Segodnya" (19), "Censor" (14), "Gordon" (13), "Strana" (11), TSN (5).

No jeansa were found on the sites "Liga", "Ukrainska Pravda", "Dzerkalo tyzhdnya", "Suspilne", "Bukvy", NV and "Korrespondent". 

The most part of an inappropriate marking among all sites was identified on TSN (15), and then on UNIAN (9). An improper labeling of materials was also found on the sites "Ukrainiska Pravda", "Bukvy", NV, "Channel 24", "Segodnya" and "Gordon".

Monitoring was conducted on April 26-30, 2021 in 18 popular Internet media: "Politeka", "Obozrevatel", Channel 24, "Gordon", "Ukrainska Pracvda", UNIAN, "Segodnya", TSN, RBC.ua, "Liga" , "Interfax-Ukraine", "Strana", "Censor", "Bukvy", "Dzerkalo Tyzhdnya", "Korrespondent", “Suspilne”, NV. 

The sample covers all news in a row that appeared on the sites during the specified period (more than 20 thousand news).
