Russian troops shelled a television tower in Kharkiv. This was reported by Detector Media with reference to the information of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting; the TV tower remained intact.

However, the shell damaged a nearby building.

The broadcasting has ceased. The Broadcasting, Radiocommunications and Television Concern (BRTC) proceeds with restoration work.

According to Suspilne, the Kharkiv TV tower sustained the air strike. Two projectiles landed nearby at 12:55 p.m. The staff was evacuated, and there are no reports of the injured.

As a reminder, after a series of explosions in Kyiv, the TV signal disappeared. The broadcasting of TV channels was temporarily stopped in digital broadcast, TV channels continue to be broadcast by providers and on satellite. The shell hit the broadcaster’s equipment room in the TV tower. Later, the broadcasting channels were restored on T2.

The Shevchenkivsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv has initiated proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) over the missile strike at the Kyiv TV tower, which led to several deaths.
