Krym.Realii (RFE/RL) received an e-mail with threats of imprisonment in Siberia for “spreading fakes about the Russian army.”

The editorial staff of Krym.Realii reported this to IMI.

The letter came from the user “Andrian Sudiropoulo” through the mail.ru mail service (banned in Ukraine).

The letter, in particular, states that the russian army “will soon occupy all cities of Ukraine and a military tribunal will be established to investigate the war crimes of Zelenskyi’s regime and its accomplices.”

“All journalists and Ukrainian media persons who promote the neo-Nazis and spread fakes against the russian army will be prosecuted and given real prison terms. It is not too late to resign, sabotage the orders of your leadership and side with Russia. Otherwise, penal colonies of the FBS of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Siberian Federal District are waiting for you,” the anonymous user’s letter reads.

As IMI reported, two editions have already received similar letters: European Pravda, Glavkom, and the Zaporizhzhia-based website 061.ua inform.zp.ua. They are also threatened with interrogation and imprisonment under the articles “extremism” and “terrorism”.
