Zelenskyy awards journalist Oleksandr Makhov with Order for Courage

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy posthumously awarded journalist and serviceman Oleksandr Makhov with Order For Courage, III degree.

This is stated in Decree №366 / 2022 of May 24.

Oleksandr Makhov was awarded "for personal courage and selfless actions shown in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for loyalty to the military oath."

As IMI reported, Oleksandr Makhov, a journalist and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died on May 4 near Izyum, Kharkiv region, due to shelling by the occupiers. He was 36 years old. In civilian life, Oleksandr worked for "Dom," "Ukraine," and "Ukraine 24" channels.
