Zelensky put in force NSDC sanctions targeting Russian media
The President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has put into force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of March 23 to apply sanctions to a number of legal media for three years.
This is said in the decree #109 / 2021 of March 23 "On imposing, abolishing and amending personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)".
In particular, the sanctions were imposed on:
Autonomous non-profit organization "Internet Press";
Joint-stock company "Gazeta.Ru";
Utro.Ru Limited Liability Company;
Autonomous non-profit organization "Free electronic encyclopedia" Patriot Handbook ";
Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russia Today" International News Agency;
Lenta.Ru Limited Liability Company;
Limited Liability Company "Media2";
Autonomous non-profit organization "TV-News";
Limited Liability Company "Federal News Agency";
Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS)".
The sanctions include: blocking of assets - temporary restriction of a person's right to use and dispose of property belonging to him; restriction of trade operations; prevention of capital withdrawal ouside Ukraine; restriction or termination of provision of telecommunication services and use of public telecommunication networks, as well as prohibition to increase the authorized capital of companies, enterprises in which a resident of a foreign state, foreign state, legal entity, a member of which is a non-resident or foreign state, owns 10 percent or more authorized capital or has an impact on the management of a legal entity or its activities.
In addition, Internet providers should block access to the sites of these companies: svpressa.ru, gazeta.ru, utro.ru, ruxpert.ru, ukraina.ru, lenta.ru, smi2.ru, rt.com, jpgazeta.ru, asd.news, pikinform.ru, dnronlane.su, i-don.ru, rumedia24.com, dnr24.su, rmnews.ru, howto-news.info, novosti.icu, tass.ru.
As IMI reported, on February 2, Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted the National Security and Defense Council decision of February 2, 2021 on the application of sanctions against MP Taras Kozak and television channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, and ZIK, the press service of the President's Office has reported.
