Zelensky put in force NSDC decision of MX-7 digital network
The President Volodymyr Zelenskyi put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of May 14 aiming to heighten the information security, counter negative external informational effect and spread objective news.
The relevant decree №198 / 2021“On certain measures to ensure information security” was published on the website of the head of state.
According to the decision of the NSDC, the Cabinet of Ministers has been charged to develop and adopt a program to increase the defense and security of Ukraine involving the Concern of Radio, Radio and Television, which is managed by the State Service for Special Communications, nationwide digital multichannel TV network MX-7.
According to the decision, the government should provide for the construction of a TV network with UAH 490 million in state guarantees (around $ 17,8 mln).
In addition, the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting was recommended to take measures aimed at de-monopolizing the digital television sector and completing the process of involving the Concern of Radio Broadcasting, Radio and Television in performing the functions of a digital broadcasting network operator.
Also, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council provides for amendments to the state budget for 2021 on articles related to guaranteeing national security and defense of Ukraine.
In particular, it is proposed to provide the possibility of providing state guarantees in 2021 to business entities - residents of Ukraine on loans (loans), which are attracted to finance programs related to improving the defense and security of the state, for the needs of state customers of defense procurement: - UAH 15,510.0 million; to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine - UAH 4,000.0 million; Administration of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine - UAH 490.0 million.
