Zaporizhzhya court granted access to videos with threats to journalists
The Ordzhonikidzevskiy District Court of Zaporizhzhya has granted police investigators temporary access to the video taken on December 2, 2019 by the surveillance cameras at the Ordzhonikidzevskiy District Court of Zaporizhzhia where they thretened to journalists from several mass media outlets just at the court hearing.
The court issued such a decision on December 21, 2019, as to the website of the Unified State Register of Judgments.
As IMI reported, on December 2, 2019 in Zaporozhye, at the court hearing journalists of several mass media editions were threatened by relatives and friends of suspected members of an organized criminal group (OCG). As a result, two journalists were taken out of court building, escorted by police officers for reasons of their safety.
On this fact, the police opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 345-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Threat or violence against a journalist"). An investigator of the Voznesenivsky District Police Department in the Zaporizhzhya region Ruslan Snopko applied to the Ordzhonikidzevsky District Court of Zaporizhzhia for temporary access to the court documents.
The court granted to the investigators a temporary access to the video recording from 3 pm to 11 pm on December 2, 2019 from the Ordzhonikidzevsky district court of Zaporizhzhya.
