The Russian shelling strike in Zaporizhzhia late on 25 November damaged the apartment of the Zaporizhzhia Investigation Centre (ZIC) director Serhiy Sydorov. No one was in the apartment at the time of the attack, Serhiy Sydorov reports to Natalia Vyhovska, the Institute of Mass Information representative in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
A Shahed drone hit a neighboring apartment, causing severe damage to the roof. The walls in the journalist’s apartment were deformed and the windows were blasted out.


“The Shahed hit the roof and the apartment next door, which suffered significant destruction. Our apartment has damaged walls, broken windows, and one room was flooded as firefighters were putting out the fire. The slate roof and beams above our floor are missing: part was blown away by the explosion, part has already been dismantled,” he said.
Russia targeted Zaporizhzhia city in a mass missile attack at around 10:00 p.m. on 25 November. 31 high-rise buildings and 20 private houses were damaged, according to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration chair Ivan Fedorov. Five high-rise buildings sustained severe damage due to large-scale fires that broke out after the strike. The Russian troops also hit a National University dormitory where people were staying. At least 19 people were injured in the attack. 152 people have reported damage or destruction of their homes following the strike.
As reported earlier, the Zaporizhzhia office of Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne was damaged in the Russian shelling strike late on 26 November. The team was unharmed: there was no one in the office at the time of the strike. The company reported damage to a part of the building’s wall and broken windows. The team is assessing the damage inflicted by the strike.
