The Sosniv District Court of Cherkasy sentenced the city's resident who supported russia's armed aggression against Ukraine on TikTok to four years in prison with a three-year probation period.

This was announced by the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, a 56-year-old woman from Cherkasy was using her TikTok account to post comments with public calls for violent change or overthrow of state power. She also justified and recognized as legitimate russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014, calling it an internal civil conflict, and denied the temporary occupation of a part of Ukrainian territory. In addition, she glorified the perpetrators of the armed aggression against Ukraine: members of the russian armed formations, irregular paratrooper formations, armed gangs, and groups of mercenaries created, supervised, managed, and financed by the russian federation.

During the trial, the accused fully admitted her guilt and sincerely repented.

The court found her guilty of the crimes provided for in Part 1 of Art. 436-2 (justification of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine and glorification of its participants), Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (public calls for violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or for the seizure of state power).
