On June 10, Oleksiy Chubashev, war correspondent, author and host of the military program "Recruit.UA," former head of Armiya FM, and UAF serviceman, was killed on the frontline.

This was announced on Facebook by his friend, spokesperson of the international volunteer community InformNapalm Mykhailo Makaruk.

"A mega positive and professional journalist. An officer… A man who believed in what he did and always moved towards the set goal," he wrote.

Oleksiy's death was also announced by the "Military Television of Ukraine" unit of the Central Television and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense, where he began his career as a military journalist.

"Our Oleksiy Chubashev, you will forever remain a part of the Military Television of Ukraine, where you began your career as a military journalist. And which you made better with your projects. You lived by what you did and lit up everyone around you with it," the post reads.

On February 24, 2022, Oleksiy Chubashev returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"On February 24, you could have gone back to the army as a military journalist, or you could have not gone at all… no, you couldn't, because this is not who you were. You went to war. And you became immortal in battle, like a real warrior," the post says.

Oleksiy Chubashev is a military journalist by education, graduated from the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum and Faculty of Military Journalism at the Military Institute of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

In 2015, he started working at the Central Television and Radio Studio of the Ministry of Defense, was the author and host of the first Ukrainian military project "Recruit.UA." On February 28, 2021, Oleksiy's second officer contract with the Armed Forces expired, and he retired.

Oleksiy is survived by his wife, daughter and son, who was born in March.
